CARY, N.C. – Tournament officials for the SAS Championship presented by Bloomberg Businessweek, a Champions Tour golf event in its 10th year, today announced the schedule of events for the tournament held at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, Sept. 21 – 26.

Admission
Admission is free to all patrons Tuesday – Thursday courtesy of SAS. Children 17-years old and younger are admitted free all week courtesy of the News & Observer. Daily tickets, valid any one day Friday-Sunday, are $20. Tickets valid all week are $40. There are also tickets to two public hospitality viewing areas available for purchase. The Eagles Nest 17th green skybox includes a buffet, snacks and open bar at a cost of $89 per day Saturday and Sunday. The 18th green patio ticket includes access to premier viewing of the 18th hole and one free drink voucher for a $10 upgrade cost on any ticket.

Pre-Tournament Activities
Tuesday, Sept. 21 is a practice day for the professionals, while Wednesday, Sept. 22 and Thursday, Sept. 23 are the official pro-am days. These days provide great opportunities for fans to walk alongside their favorite Tour pros and get autographs.

Championship Days
Friday – Sunday, professional tee times will begin at 10:30 a.m. off the 1st and 10th tees. The SAS Championship will be broadcast in primetime on the Golf Channel from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Friday, 6:30 – 9 p.m. Saturday and 7 – 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Friday, Sept. 24 is WakeMed Cary Hospital Health Day and the start of championship play. WakeMed Cary Hospital will conduct free health screenings all day at the WakeMed first aid tent. Public gates will open at 9 a.m. Following the conclusion of play, the SAS Championship is presenting the Link to Green networking event. The event features live music, a cash bar, appearances by Champions Tour professionals and food provided by Backyard Bistro. Those interested in attending should contact their local chamber of commerce representatives.

Saturday, Sept. 25 is AT&T Family Day and will feature a free kids’ zone with an interactive play area, face painting and art.  The Blue Points 5K at the SAS Championship will also debut at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The 5K takes place on the cart paths of the tournament’s back nine holes prior to the start of the second round. Anyone interested in running the 5K can register at www.saschampionship.com. Public gates will open at 7 a.m.

Sunday, Sept. 26 is the final round of the SAS Championship. Public gates will open at 9 a.m. An awards ceremony on the 18th green will occur immediately following the end of the tournament.
