Blue Points 5K
Put on your running shoes to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the SAS Championship! The SAS Championship and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) are partnering together to present the inaugural Blue Points 5k at the SAS Championship on Saturday, September 25 at Prestonwood Country Club, prior to the start of the tournament’s second round.

Runners will experience a truly unique course as the race will take place on the cart paths of the SAS Championship’s back nine. The race course will begin near the main tournament entrance and wind through Prestonwood’s Meadows Golf course before coming to an exciting conclusion at the tournament’s 18th hole.
The race has something to offer runners of all ages and experience levels. Adults and children 17 and under can register in competitive or noncompetitive divisions and families who enter the 5k will receive a discount on their registration fee.
Competitive division registration costs (includes chip timing):
- Adults - $30
- Youth (17 & under) - $20
- Family - $70
Noncompetitive registration costs:
- Adults - $25
- Youth (17 & under) - $15
- Family - $55

Race participants will receive:
- Commemorative t-shirt
- Post-race food
- Admission to the 2nd round of the SAS Championship, including AT&T Family Day
Race and tournament proceeds benefit local youth educational organizations including the YMCA of the Triangle’s WeBuildPeople Campaign and Y Learning through the Triangle Community Foundation.

BCBSNC created the Blue Points program to encourage members to lead a healthy lifestyle. Participants earn points every day by recording their physical and wellness activities, including exercise, eating fruits and vegetables, getting preventive screenings, or participating in any of BCBSNC’s Online Healthy Living Programs.
