Tournament has largest number of volunteers in event history
CARY, N.C. – In a first ever for the SAS Championship presented by Bloomberg Buisnessweek, volunteer registration has officially closed due to a record number of registrants. Over 670 volunteers will take part in the annual Champions Tour event when it returns to Prestonwood Country Club, Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
“This is a first in our event’s history. We have never closed volunteer registration this early before a tournament. It’s a huge testament of how much this event has grown over the years, and how great our volunteers are,” said Tournament Director Jeff Kleiber. “We have an excellent core group of volunteer leadership, who has become the heart and soul of this event.”
The record number of volunteers includes SAS employees, Prestonwood Country Club members, and many residents of the surrounding communities. Together, this group will account for over 10,000 hours on the course over seven days.
